The magic macOS command I wish I've known for a million years: $ defaults write com.apple.loginwindow TALLogoutSavesState -bool false Don't reboot every damn app under the sun every time you restart your OS. Let an OS restart be a blissful clean slate where you can reopen the apps you actually want to use. WTF Apple, why is it so hard to experience this zen state of no apps unless you explicitly check a goddamn box when you restart the OS that says "I would like an OS restart to be a clean slate please!"
