Researchers in Japan from the RIKEN Pioneering Research Institute and the Institute of Science Tokyo, have developed an experimental technique that tricks cancer cells into producing a toxin that kills them from the inside. Lab tests revealed that normal cells were left unharmed. Cancer cells naturally produce an excess amount of carbon monoxide gas compared to healthy cells.
