The fact is that there exists ethically trained LLMs on properly licensed data, trained in datacenters that run on 100% renewable energy and not using potable water for cooling. Yet, you will not use such a model because your anti-AI fanaticism has nothing to do that - it's all just feels.

@troed@swecyb.com @zz_james@mastodon.social @eff@mastodon.social I'm open to the idea of using it, but having LLMs rammed down my throat every way I turn has given me a very negative impression of the whole thing. Especially because friends of mine are being fired in advance because of "AI benefits" Is that the ethically sourced and useful LLM that you're talking about? The stuff that hurts people? I will continue to look for meaningful benefits from LLMs, and will post when I find one. So far, I haven't found anything compelling to me.
