Y’all. If any of you got a handful of notifications from my account for edited posts, I’m very sorry. I went back and removed all of the archive.is links I have used (about ten), replacing them with web.archive.org links.
If y’all don’t know, there’s a lot of shady stuff going on with that cluster of archive.* sites. Apparently for a very long time. But I didn’t know about it until recently. More info:

@markwyner@mas.to Blimey, I didn't know that at all! I use archive a lot. Guess I'll be stopping. Someone else here mentioned this the other day. I've used it a couple of times and it seems pretty good. https://unwall.app/

@markwyner@mas.to Those articles are 8 months old. Is this still going on?

@markwyner@mas.to I made the same mistake a few months back, and someone quickly alerted me to the problem.

@markwyner@mas.to archive.is guy does seem like a blowhard but i guarantee shunning his links will backfire and be widely regretted some years from now
