#WordWeavers July 10: Do you prefer writing characters more like you or vastly different?
They both have their charms, although the fact that there's a limit to just how close to me I'll let a character get, coupled with the fact that I don't see any _maximum_ for distance/difference (I have the usual hard SF fan's love for "really *alien* aliens") probably means I should answer that I prefer the different ones a bit more.

#WordWeavers July 11: Would your protagonist rather be loved or feared? Why? All 5 of my MCs would prefer being loved. Their explanations would have some variations and contrasts, but common features would be that they see that fear is a very unstable motivator, whereas love is more reliable, and they don't like who they'd have to become in order to rouse that much fear.
