A service I recently cancelled because I couldn't continue using it without downloading another freaking app called me wanting to know why.
Quit making apps mandatory. I'm at a stage in life where I feel like I've learned enough to happily live it with the skills I've got. Even for products & services I've used for decades, introducing mandatory apps (or make it almost unusable without) will make me cancel quicker than anything else.

@roastinghouse@mastodonapp.uk A few years ago I removed the Facebook app and now only use the website on my laptop (mainly for the vintage bike groups). I check in far less often now. The same was true of Twitter before I stopped it altogether. Unfortunately my kids are going the other way, signing up to as much stuff as they can despite me pleading with them not to give their personal data away.
