The latest Godcast is now out! Episode 387: On Seizing Church Property (Burke Pt.3) So when is a state seizing Church lands acceptable? According to Edmund Burke, the answer is “only when the English do it.” As we continue reading through Edmund Burke’s Reflections on the Revolution in France, the foundational text for conservatism, let’s ask some pointed questions about fifth columns, historical massacres, and the statute of limitations for laying blame on people groups. Most importantly, we continue to ask: do Christians have to be conservatives? All roads lead back to the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre. @Godcast@poa.st Frankly, I think the French Revolution was just punishment upon that nation for the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre. Also, Burke is soft for not praising the execution of the evil Papist scum by the English Crown. All 430 of those damn bastards deserved it, it's a shame they only killed 430.
