I've been messing about with Claude Code to do fun stuff that I otherwise wouldn't have the slightest idea how to get started with (web programming, in thie case) and built a weather-and-headlines display which updates automatically and integrates with my Home Assistant instances to get things like (very) local weather data from the station in the back garden and how long the dishwasher has to run. I want to run it on a spare CRT portable as a more interesting information display than a tablet stuck to the wall.
It was starting to look convincingly real but for the real old-school look it also needed to be able to overlay random messages if necessary -- and how else to do it but with @KecskeBak 's excellent ANCHOR font?
It still looks a bit busy to me for a genuine 625-line picture but it's a start.
