Walked past a tall bag of white beans in the kitchen, looked down and noticed a black furry thing - a jumping #spider It's SO CUTE! It looked up at me with those huge eyes. I put it in a mason jar, and we sat at my desk together for ten minutes while I got a positive ID (Phidippus audax). I named it Woolcroft. We chatted a little. Frankly he wasn't very forthcoming. Now he's in the jar on the banister on the porch. The jar was placed gently on its side and he's considering whether he wants to stay on a small pile of beans, or face the world.
