@samueljohnson@mstdn.social I had not. Thanks. I think.
It is, I think, one of the things in the back of my mind that is against 2FA. I use a password manager so it is very rare that I need to authenticate, but then another niggle says that it is important to have 2FA. But I've never seen it discussed comprehensively.

@etp@indieweb.social Yikes. 2FA is vital for anything that matters, above all email. I have 3 Yubikeys. One each on keyring, desk, bedside drawer. Bitwarden's TOTP is handy but I'm parallel running* Vaultwarden now and aim not to renew Bitwarden (*needs separate browsers for the extensions; am using Vivaldi & Brave) since VC mgmt takeover. Use Aegis not Authy if you want a TOTP app. Authy works well (syncs across devices) but doesn't allow export which is an annoyance.

@etp@indieweb.social Just to add, using a password manager has its own risks if not protected with 2FA. I'm sure you know.
