We dreamed of America,
where the west wind dwells.
We dreamed of America,
where honeyflowers swell,
where the sky is vast and blue,
with stars and stripes in view,
we dreamed of America
but no longer now,
no, not any longer now.
This was written by the Norwegian artist Odd Børretzen 31 years ago, but I don't think it's ever been more true than now.
