@blaseblazenost@social.vivaldi.net the verbiage on the Desktop Environment page made it sound like LXDE was the most lightweight and the best option for older hardware. LXQt is supported and available from the installer.

I didn’t dig much deeper than that. Would LXQt use even less ressources (I.e ram) ?

@blaseblazenost@social.vivaldi.net I guess you bring up a very good point. After doing some reading, it looks like LXDE is pretty much dead indeed and efforts have now moved to LXQt. I’ll consider it if BF runs into RAM issues.
