A slightly "unhinged" looking comment I might have left, when responding to someone who is (fairly, IMO) calling me out on my blog.
I openly admit to hypocritical, paradoxical behaviours. I am a search marketer (!) and I am very openly anti-capitalist (!!). What bigger opposite could you have??
I don't hide away from any of this. I do this work because it pays the bills and I have figured a way to work with clients that are (more) aligned with my values, as best as possible...

If our capitalist society allowed me to, I would be outside planting trees, flowers, and growing edible and organic food. This is all I really want to do. Alas I can't because this doesn't pay the bills (ironically those who work in this space and up compromising on their values!) This is what capitalism does to us - it does not value jobs with purpose or meaning. And this is why I am engaged with whatever anti-capitalist activities I can be.
