My sympathy is limited—her behavior 40+ years ago was also inexcusable and appalling— but this is just obviously not a well person & they’ve ruthlessly thrown her into the public spotlight in desperate hope of scoring a cheap point.

Arthur, 82, has in recent years been living out of a car packed with dozens of cats in church parking lots. Anyone with a shred of basic decency would be trying to get her help, not turning her into a political spokesperson.
