When Odin was two months old, we caught him chewing on an HDMI cable. We told him to stop and he never chewed on it, or any other cable, ever again. (He's remarkably agreeable about this sort of thing.) And I've been re-patching it with more electrical tape every few months for almost three years now 😂 it started dropping frames like crazy today, I guess it's time to let puppy teeth entropy win and buy a new one

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange That’s a helluva cable right there. Maybe throw them a positive review with the story, lol.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange Our Timneh African Grey ‘Kumiko’ has avoided chewing on almost all cords (thin headphone cords around the neck are liable to get nicks and kinks) since he was 6 months old; we freaked out, yelling “DANGER!” whenever he looked sideways at a 120V or computer cord. Now he just steps over them. We also convinced him the cats he sees out the window are a threat by pointing at them and saying “Danger”, and now (at 19 yo) he alarm-calls when he sees one outside.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange That took me back to the first night my pup was allowed to "sleep" inside the house. A matrace on the floor for me, all the plants having bite marks and multiple wet loo pools on the floor in the morning. He bit my nose during night as well. Little bastard :) I still miss him...
