Did some hand-coding today, just for sentimental reasons or maybe because of an odd sense of purity around my contributions to this particular OSS project. I was surprised how natural it felt: autocompleting in the IDE, clicking through to declarations, etc. The weirdest part was skipping AI code review despite knowing it could probably find a bunch of race conditions, write better tests, etc. But I kind of don't care because it did feel good to stretch the old muscles again.
