Have you ever noticed how people have normalized asking "Why" in response to "I want to do X".
It is just a statement, not an invitation for justification..or follow-up questions.

@pheonix@hachyderm.io Yep. Also, I am quite annoyed of people asking "Why?" if they're asked a question. Real world examples, experienced by me: "Could you pass the butter, please?" - "Why?" "Do you want ice cream?" - "Why?" Soooo unnerving.
