@waldoj@mastodon.social Currently reading “Apple in China” and recently refurbed a 20-year-old iPod. It has me thinking about how the company has abandoned its roots for the almighty dollar. But at what point is your brand no longer authentic and not worth buying? I have been a die-hard since Apple ][ days … and yet, I’ve switched to Linux as my personal daily driver. I’m not sure I’ll buy new products from them anymore.

@waldoj@mastodon.social Pay an arm and a leg for a 'premium' product. Get the same shitty user experience. Sounds about right.

@waldoj@mastodon.social I remember when they spun iAds out because they decided that advertising was incompatible with their privacy push. They made a big publicity thing about it. Then, a few years later, they quietly created a new set of ad products.
