@jwz@mastodon.social @docpop@mastodon.social not sure what the rules are in SF re busking (guessing they aren’t very friendly as I don’t recall hearing a lot of buskers when I lived there) but here in Mountain View apparently the only restriction is no amplification - so I hear and see buskers of all types playing most evenings along the closed to traffic portions of Castro St. Chicago at least decades ago also was fairly supportive of buskers - so they were a fairly common sight. (Doesn’t help with knowing when/where)
