@Wen@mastodon.scot I think that the answer to your question is "No" and "Yes". Well perhaps English government will learn eventually (but I'll not be holding my breath).

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot I do not think it too cynical to suspect that post political sinecures (see Blair and all of his cabinet after office) are more important to them than anything else.
