Now what's super powerful about mastodon bots is that you can take advantage of the full network's ability to push notifications out to your prefered instance and app.
For typical Android mastodon users you'll want to likely install a UnifiedPush helper app 👇🏿
The @Tusky@mastodon.social team has a great thread explaining this part.
Once setup, notifications are nearly instant!

Just got the first live alert, everything worked perfectly. Bot detected the report within seconds, and made the mastodon post. In under a minute I actually got a push notification from mastodon that woke up my phone from sleep. I tested on Android so used the sunup UnifiedPush app: https://unifiedpush.org/users/distributors/sunup/ And thankfully it was just a low conflict report.
