@triploidtree@mastodon.ie thanks for the recommendations and will mostly be tied to public transport, as unfortunately the one thing I haven't done is retaken all my driving tests after moving to the UK.
Though not sure what is available for perhaps bus/coach or day trips, may also have a look.

@mothling@mementomori.social you can get the Train from the City to Cobh (25min), Lovely seaside town to visit. The Cathedral there has the largest carillon in Ireland and UK.

@mothling@mementomori.social the beaches are tough to get to by bus, but you'll find a few chippers around teh city centre. The Crawford Art Gallery is usually worth a nose around and is pretty central. People recommend the Gaol (jail) but I haven't been there in >30 years. I also haven't been to the butter musuem, but I should go out of my way some time
