@thankfulmachine@oldbytes.space @argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org Imagine losing the source files of one of the most important games ever, and the one which they still milk money. I have backups from the floppy disk times, how can a company lose a multi-million project files?

@alfredbaudisch@mastodon.gamedev.place @thankfulmachine@oldbytes.space @argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org Haha. I have no idea. How incompetent do you have to be to do that? I mean you'd be forced to write "reverse exporters" to extract the data from the final game files and move it back into Maya. That would be an awful burden. And then keeping those up to date. Who would do such a thing? Haha. Sounds terrible. I strongly advise against this. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
