If you are getting a #pinephone, you are also going to need a microSD reader. The manjaro distro on the phones is too antiquated to update. Even if you are fine with a manjaro distro, you will need to flash a new one.

Having tried Manjaro (Phosh), Ubuntu Touch, and now PostmarketOS, I have found Postmarket to be the most functional and similar to the Linux Desktop experience. I would highly recommend Pinephone users installing Postmarket to modify the /sys/class/thermal settings, as the base settings have been set quite high. Directions are here https://pine64.org/documentation/PinePhone/Software_tricks/Thermal_tweaks/ However, I found it easier to use the file explorer + text document editor, rather than console.
