To make the obvious point for example, this total represents about 0.003% of Elsevier's Annual revenue.

@dn_mason@mas.to @Co_Biologists@biologists.social yes, APCs are price sensitive and funders are losing patience with OA models that are underpinned solely by APCs. Your second point is right. Elsevier could do this tomorrow and barely dent their massive profits. Of course they wouldn't, they will use it as a chance to jack the price because capitalism. IMHO, people donating free labour to them should bear that in mind.
