#DonnieDumbass is crowing about making a deal to buy #PotAsh (basic fertilizer) from #Belarus instead of #Canada, saying it will be "much cheaper" (CORRECTION: exempt from #tariffs, but ignores transport costs.)
Belarus is the country on #Ukraine's northern border, land-locked (making shipping exponentially more difficult) and allied with #Putin.
If Vlad decided he wanted to put the squeeze on us for aiding #Ukraine, he won't have to go very far.

@MugsysRapSheet@mastodon.social Important clarification: there is no US tariff on Canadian potash, for multiple reasons, but primarily it being essential for US ag. Yet. If #Congress allows Trump to send #US #tax #dollars to #Belarus (paying #Russia's welfare bill) he will have enough (expensive) potash to sell to farmers, so he can tariff #Canada's supply illegally. And keep in mind, tariffs in violation of the ratified trade treaty are illegal. Read the Constitution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supremacy_Clause
