This is bad. And the fact is that lots of us deal with this infrastructure in various capacities. People speaking flippantly about migrating (which is necessary) need to also acknowledge the difficulty / messiness there. Switching to another centralized service presents the same risks. And embracing decentralization here is fuckin complicated (even for people who are generally familiar with registrars, DNS records, mail servers, spam filters, PGP key management, etc). This shit is hard, and brutally hard to do well. Expecting people who are not experts to deal with all that is unrealistic and there's a reason why Proton was such a critical alternative to Gmail, etc. This sucks. It sucks so hard.
