Sometimes people are surprised that I am very happy with my very modest existence, if they learn that it was once one of relative abundance.
They perceive it as a loss that should have broken me, not realizing that after the abundance, I was also lost everything and had nothing but the clothes on my back, before reaching this new modest level of enough.
There's a lot of lessons in such a journey.

@dabertime@mstdn.social We've never been down to nothing but have both found "wealth" in having enough.
