Don't forget! `air_conditioning=yes/no` is the tag you can map now! When you walk into a shop/cafe/restaurant do you immediately notice the cold air? You should be happy for 2 reasons! You can cool down, and now you have something to map into OSM! https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:air_conditioning #OpenStreetMap #OSM #aircon #climatecrises

    @amapanda@en.osm.town I am wishing me tourism=camp_site + cabins=yes + air_conditioning=yes + drinking_water=yes + cold_water=yes + drinking_water:refill=yes + scuba_diving:type=ice + generator:source=solar and it sounds like a business model :) PS: need a tag for cold chamber (the opposite of sauna)

    @amapanda@en.osm.town But keeping the train's position up to date is a chore!

    @amapanda@en.osm.town instead of just yes/no, a scale from "too weak" to "polar temperature / Bangkok SkyTrain" would be helpful to plan for appropriate clothing 😉

    @amapanda@en.osm.town Thanks for your call to action! It inspired me to create an Air Conditioning map in OpenStreetBrowser: https://en.osm.town/@openstreetbrowser/116812743205454603

    @amapanda@en.osm.town Hmm. So I know of a coffee shop that has a few large (like, big suitcase-sized) machines that are basically fans with a reservoir for ice water. They seem to work okay, but the building can still get kind of toasty in the summer. Does that count as air_conditioning=yes or no? I'm leaning towards "no", because it doesn't use a compressor and it isn't central HVAC or a minisplit/window unit. But presumably it's also better than nothing.
