@bert_hubert@eupolicy.social Great analysis, thanks. What I liked most: ""Until now, writing those documents has been an integral part of an organization’s thinking process. Formulating them made both the presentations and the plans themselves better. Even if a document wasn’t widely read, the fact that someone had written a substantial piece about an idea was a strong indication that they had genuinely invested time and thought into it. With AI, however, it’s possible to produce superficially convincing documents with very little effort or reflection Such a document is no longer evidence that someone has thought things through or put in significant work." https://berthub.eu/articles/posts/ai-for-decision-makers/#:~:text=Until%20now%2C%20writing,effort%20or%20reflection"

@bartolialberto@infosec.exchange @bert_hubert@eupolicy.social Yes that's a good one and a practical thing to bring up with colleagues. For example, in our small company, we have no rules really on AI use in the organisation. I think if we were to have just one, 'don't post AI output directly to colleagues, but check, think and write your own thoughts' would probably be a really good one. I will bring that up. A quick note about the Dallas graph. I'd be surprised if Bert considers seriously that any AI singularity is at all likely but it's not 100% clear, so I'll say, there are some things we do know and the fact that there's not going to be any AI singularity in our lifetimes is one of them. You know where it's come from - TESCREAL, stock hyping etc., it's a very damaging idea which takes energy away from the more practical things discussed in the post.
