How much do you distinguish between friendships and dating? This poll is mostly meant for neurodiverse polyamorous queer people (which seems to be most of fedi). I'm kinda curious, since the monogamous script tells you to clearly separate the two but I suspect a lot of queers don't. :boost_ok:

  • @ayke@blahaj.social hn. It depends? Like most ppl I am friends with will never be romantic / sex interests, I just don't think of them that way. Most of the rest are "I dunno but it could happen" bc there is at least a little bit of attraction. Then, there are the SUPER rare ppl who I actually just want to do things with. So scale but separate too? Difficulty / wrench: I'm also super fking demi.

Thanks all! This poll got... slightly more popular than expected. Super interesting to see all the responses! For me it's some sort of scale. I do like cuddles, and I like kissing (depending on the person of course). I don't really get traditional platonic friendships, though of course I will respect if people want to stay entirely platonic. Maybe that's a me problem. I just like long hugs to feel comfortable with people.

@ayke@blahaj.social there's a threshold in our opinion, but there is definitely a middle area for us where we're friends but we would have sex or kiss or etc. it depends on who, and it is very much vibes based it seems - posted by maya
