do you remember when a bunch of out of touch tech journalists called the original iphone a gimmick because it didn’t have apps yet and they didn’t realize that stylus-free, reliable capacitive touch sensing and a phone UI that wasn’t shit were valuable things for most people?
anyway a lot of those journalists love the iphone duo

after the early 2000s, tech journalists realized that if you breathlessly pretend every major device release is revolutionary, you’ll never again get caught thinking the general public wanted a blackberry instead of an iphone
