UPDATE for Shelter 0001: https://shelter.apgw.de/shelter_0001/?lang=en On the 25th of August 2026 we placed a sweeping brush and a lasered wooden info sign [made in the object workshop in a cellar of the design department at the university of applied sciences and arts Bielefeld] into the shelter... The day may be remembered as "Sign and Broom Day" each year, from now on (with a celebration). :) The rope we used to bind the brush to the shelter may also be used as a clothes line in the shelter entrance. There are useful hooks. So this project is completed successfully now, many thanks to all the people who helped to make it possible! I am looking for art residencies to create more shelters on participative artistic shelter construction sites where we re-use found and given materials. Searching for it with priority on germany because this is a "developing country" in case of free public common infrastructure (for climatefriendly travelling). #art #infrastructure #climate #nature #travelling #biketravels #trekking #hiking #commons #design #DIY
