I need to rant into the void for a moment... Anyone who blames parents for not using parental controls, kids accounts, family management systems etc clearly has never actually used them. I'm a total nerd, I've worked in tech my whole life. Every time I want to do anything with any of them I end up despairing. Every single one of them is a confusing mess of disjointed, poorly implemented, duplicated and frequently just downright inscrutable UX clusterfucks. Every single one is a technological omnishambles. I completely understand why people just set up ordinary accounts and attach their credit cards to them for their kids, because the alternative frequently requires an afternoon of googling. Anyway. Rant over.
