Why am I getting super long posts in my feed from people I don’t follow and it’s not a repost?

@alexthepres@ohai.social Sites with longer character limits sound like a good idea until you realize there are some people who don't want to converse, they just want to dump screeds. I swear, there are people I've blocked after single posts that rivaled a Cory Doctorow Long Thread... and I'm beginning to side-eye anyone who posts from servers with huge post sizes. If a post has hashtags grouped at the bottom and you don't recognize any of them, check whether Mastodon has 'helpfully' hidden some of them.
