  There has to be a demand. If your industry is overpopulated or your skillset isn’t popular, recruiters can’t place you. They get paid when they fill a spot. The better the candidate matches the role, the easier it is to convince a hiring manager to take the interview. Good recruiters know enough people to place oddballs. Lazy recruiters are matching bullets on job requirents.
