It's gonna be a crow-tastic day ~ beak-cause I said so! We have the House Crow under the spotlight ~ a corvis with a lot of caw-titude! Did you know: Crows, ravens, and parrots have the biggest brain-to-body size ratios of all living bird species. They’ve shown levels of cognition that put them on par with the great apes 🧠 🐦‍⬛ Ornithologist Kevin McGowan hates the phrase "murder of crows". To him, it only feeds the public’s negative outlook on the animals. “These birds aren’t a gang of nasty villains,”. “These birds are just birds.” 😳 🐦‍⬛ House Crows are preyed upon by hawks, eagles, owls, monkeys, and snakes. Oof! 🐦‍⬛ A House crow’s nest weighs as much as an impressive 55 pounds! Usually the female builds the nest on her own 💪 🐦‍⬛ BirdBrainer Daily Challenge — Oct 10, 2026 ✅ Got it! 🔥 14 day streak Play at https://birdbrainer.app #birdbrainerapp #birdbrainer #birds Bird of the Day House Crow Corvus splendens Photo credit: Frank Priscus Shirima
