We really need to get behind solar carports and mandatory solar panels on new builds.. etc. as well as rain collection and better building design
Think we have established this increasingly hot weather is not a once in a lifetime event... or something to be survived or endured... it is something to be planned for

@PGBeattie@mastodonapp.uk @mikegalsworthy@mas.to People are increasingly going to need aircon to get through these heatwaves, which takes a surprisingly large amount of power. I need most of my 17 panels’ output to run mine on days like we’ve had this last week. Which makes me sad when many of the new builds I *do* see with solar panels look like they’ve gone with a bare minimum of maybe 5 panels. Really, we should be covering every available surface with panels - and remembering that they’re cheaper per unit area than roof tiles, it should really be a no-brainer…
