What is happening to The Guardian? Seems like they want to start selling data to advertisers, otherwise I wouldn't know why this is important.

@dilmandila@mograph.social I hate having to ignore so many different media sources because they want me to sign in so they can engage in whichever flavor of capitalistic strokes are shooting for on any given day. I get that things cost money to run, and I happily pay for the ones that agree not to track me or monetize my data.

@dilmandila@mograph.social They’ve long done this, several years at least. I assume it’s primarily so they can send you email nudges about new articles to keep you coming back. Of course like you I also wonder about advertisers and profiling.
