> Yeah, but Vox's advice to Torba and the site's downhill trajectory since he got back on board has been astounding, truly. Vox doesn't think the advertiser support model is workable. Facebook and Twitter demonstrate that he's wrong, but at the price of almost complete loss of privacy. A happy medium should be possible at reduced profitability, but Torba's not remotely capable of threading that needle.

For small publishers and small operating costs, you already found the niches. You cannot find the businesses you want to on big internet anymore. Especially since AI. Do it on vig.

  • @James_Dixon@poa.st @PodunkPotato@nicecrew.digital @jb@nicecrew.digital @TrevorGoodchild@poa.st As one of the 0.008%, I at least have the satisfaction of knowing I didn’t cause the problem. I wish more people felt the satisfaction of having a Pro badge showing they were a maintainer for a Christian nationalist, pro-White site set up to rival normie social media. Gab is still a nice site, it’s just a pain that the engagement’s low, which is one reason I am on the fediverse too.
