It's even worse if you lived in the 60s and 70s, where compared to now, it was a paradise of sanity. Partly this was because there were no computers, cellphones or social media. Politicians were mostly ignored and the news media didn't skew everything into a fascist, racist, or bigot soundbite.

@wordstitcher@thecanadian.social I was… There was also a war in Viet Nam, oil crisis, MLK and Malcom X assassinated…etc. The 80’s had their own issues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1U1Ue_5kq8 but…relatively…I’ll take ‘being aware of and sick of their shit’ every time.
