Ok nerds, hit me with it: why is DS9 better than TNG and Voyager?
I've rewatched the others but DS9 never hit me the same way, maybe you can give me a reason to. I know there are a lot of you who praise it as the best one but in my memory it was about boldy going nowhere, with egregious religious overtones clogging up the sci-fi.

@copper_tunic@mastodon.gamedev.place i wouldn't say it's better so much as different, and if that is consistent with what you like then it's better

@copper_tunic@mastodon.gamedev.place Wouldn't say it's better than TNG but seems like the idea was that DS9 was for people who thought TNG didn't have enough social commentary or political intrigue and Voyager was for people who thought TNG didn't have enough action.

@copper_tunic@mastodon.gamedev.place It's the one Star Trek that had ongoing story arcs, and the one where issues are not usually solved by "We have unlimited resources and blind confidence in our moral superiority".
