"Israel is where we go when it happens again." It is such a powerful message of pain, tight with centuries of unjust oppression. It's compelling rhetoric, and it's a trauma response. Because it's a trauma response, it's not rational. What if the next time it happens, it happens in Israel? Is there something that makes Israel magically immune to injustice?
