@Beachbum@mastodon.sdf.org I have an IQAir that I diverted from e-waste/landfill, and I think it's a terrific unit. There's a place for both types. The CR Box is cheaper, and if you use PC fans, it's also quieter. However, the IQAir's HEPA captures ultrafine particles that MERV13/14 filters often miss. The IQAir also has a meaningful, long-lasting carbon filter for mitigating smells and VOCs. So, I'd say you should still be happy to have such a high-quality machine, and you can always add a CR Box, too.
