It's late in the poll so I'm just going to reply. I don't think being a best friend as an adult has many rules. If you can fulfill that role for someone, it's a real honour, even if someone different fulfills that role for you. It doesn't have to be a symmetrical relationship.

@evan@cosocial.ca I'd say only if they kept doing it and it was making me uncomfortable. If people get too close to me too fast it does get me uncomfortable and I'd at very least indicate that's not how I feel about them.

@evan@cosocial.ca I never had a symmetric bestie until recently in my life, which is something I always had wanted, having had always been an asymmetric bestie. So it’s interesting question to answer.
