@timbray@cosocial.ca It feels like Gruber making a statement on his own values than some change of the vibe on X. There have been a handful of moments where he or a podcast cohost have said some things that gave me real pause about his values and eventually he said one problematic thing too much and I decided it was time to unsubscribe and make room for new people. I’m hoping this causes a few people to lift their heads up and maybe rethink how much of a presence they want DF to have in their feeds.

@timbray@cosocial.ca and to be clear, I don’t think someone is a bad person if they look at this and decide to stay subscribed; life is full of ethical tradeoffs and being a DF or Talk Show subscriber is a far cry from being, say, an Elon stan. But I would at least hope someone sees this and it gives them a more critical eye on stuff they see him saying in the future.

@harpaa01@mastodon.social @timbray@cosocial.ca I read and listened to him for many years now. I removed DF from my RSS reader, unsubscribed from The Talk Show, and unsubscribed from the Dithering podcast. It was weird because I enjoyed them for so long.
