This week's Pandemics in BC blog posts: General: https://covidbc.webfoot.com/2026/09/26/2026-09-26-general/ BC: https://covidbc.webfoot.com/2026/09/26/2026-09-26-bc/ The province is now reporting all their data every week, so I should be posting a BC post every week now until the spring. #covid19bc #covid19 #covid #rsv #measles

@ducky@mstdn.ca Interesting particularly as the COVID status for BC according to this site is high (along with Quebec and PEI) https://health-infobase.canada.ca/wastewater/

@ducky@mstdn.ca Thank you for compiling such interesting information. I'm surprised by the study showing high effectiveness rates for the RSV vaccine. It's possible that my memory is wrong, but I thought that you previously shared a study showing 80% effectiveness against hospitalization 1 month after vaccination, falling to a dismal 40% a mere 18 months after vaccination. Perhaps the studies were done in different populations. Regarding "clinical" staff being less likely to develop long covid, I wonder whether having the ability to prescribe drugs for oneself plays a role. It is much too hard for the average person to get a timely prescription for metformin, Pavlovid, or Xocova!
