@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social Even if it was true, that would be insanely innovative…

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social specially when we've seen the pinnacle of German engineering, Dieselgate.

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social The German motor industry is inherently wasteful, they even employ people to put indicators on BMW's, pointless extravagance.

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social If it is possible for a Ukranian housewife to build an explosive drone in her kitchen, then politicians everywhere need to get very worried.

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social found that article. Pretty harsh https://www.theatlantic.com/national-security/2026/03/who-needs-tanks-age-drones/686540/

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social Well, when we had a Green minister of economy, he told the German car makers that if they didn't offer an EV for €20.000 in 2025, they would go under. Guess what. None of them has an EV for €20.000. They scoffed at him. And now, they are reporting losses and wring their hands - and bribe politicians for more time for their combustion engines, completely unaware of how the market has turned against them.

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social uh... explain to me how housewives fabbing military hardware at home is not a terrifying innovation? Because home manufacture of munitions is pretty ground breaking

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social We share a company campus with Rheinmetall. And those guys there have tons of respect for the Ukraine. I am not sure if the there is a misunderstanding here. @cstross@wandering.shop

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social what this dude seems to have forgotten is that Kyiv's university produced more women engineers for decades than all German universities combined. And as one of them once told me —before the war— with fire in her eyes: "we're *very* motivated..." I'd buy the drone designed by a Ukrainian woman over one designed by a Rheinmetal employee every time without even looking at it. It's just statistically so insanely improbable that it wouldn't be way better for the job.

@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social he calls them housewives.... Working women who built war material are still housewives for him, stuck in the 1940s?
