VOY S5 E18-19: "Course:Oblivion" and "The Fight" Meanwhile, in my Voyager voyage, I have reached S5 E18-19. "Course: Oblivion" has a great twist and the midpoint, and then... does nothing with it. Very disappointing. What did we learn? Even a copy of Janeway is relentless and determined to complete her mission? Even a copy of Tom Paris is an asshole? What was the point of that episode? As for "The Fight"... also disappointing. Chakotay is my unexpected favorite Voyager character, and he so rarely gets a chance to shine, so I was excited when I realized this was a Chakotay episode. However, this was either badly written or badly edited. It starts off seemingly in media res, and then after that the chronology is a little confused. The characters' motivations keep shifting back and forth. At what point does the Doctor decide that Chakotay has to try to talk with the aliens? Everyone, including Chakotay, keeps switching sides on this issue, even at the last minute, when Chakotay has clearly gotten the info that Janeway ordered him to get, and she keeps hesitating before telling everyone to do as he says. It's just sloppy and confusing. Also, I don't like boxing. I'm with the Doctor on this one #VOY #startrek #boxing
