Infinitely long sequence of nothin', "will he won't he leave the house?" They lost a lot not having Ward & Curwen negotiate. The rapey parts here don't fit with either Ward or Curwen in the book. Curwen has no interest in his dead wife/mistress, she's only interesting to connect to Ward. But finally stuff happens! A couple nice kills. Townsfolk are such simple creatures: "We're all cursed!
